an email about mariah carey
now i’m on wikipedia (slippery slope) cuz i couldn’t remember how many tracks mariah carey had that reached #1 on the billboard charts.
answer: 18. the beatles had 20. she’s in 2nd place.
i seriously don’t get why people hate mariah so much. she’s not one of the best-selling artists (#17 actually - and only behind Madonna by 100k records, and madonna has a decade on her!) of all time for nothing!
and she writes ALL her own music. and has quite a vocabulary on her. as so succinctly researched in the following gawker piece (quality journalism here)
